Philosophy of artisanal winemaking

Bodega Luis Saavedra wanted to redesign their wine labels, seeking to differentiate themselves in an oversaturated market dominated by generic rural romanticism. This family winery from Cenicientos, Madrid, needed a visual identity that could communicate their authentic relationship with time and tradition while appealing to contemporary wine culture.

The brief centered on a powerful concept: Tempus Sacrum, or sacred time. Greek mythology has always distinguished between two complementary forms of time—chronos and kairos.

Chronos represents measured, objective time, while kairos captures meaningful moments and lived experiences. Winemaking embodies both: the measured time of harvest seasons and grape maturation, alongside the intuitive moments when expertise meets wine. This duality became the design foundation.
